That's okay. The first character I ever played in an AD&D game (before I even knew what the game was about) was "Lantern Bearer" for a group of adventurers (when I was a "Weebalo" or however you spell that, at Boy Scout Camp). I ended up getting AD&D books for Christmas and then never played for years due to my lack of friends. Heh. Rather pathetic when you look at it that way, I'm sure. ^^;;
Devoured those books though. Created plenty of adventures for when I eventually did start running games, which never got used (because they were lousy).
I still remember with fondness convincing an Ettan we were supposed to kill or incapacitate that evil people are more nutritious than good people and thankfully my alignment was Good so... ;)
@Robert: lol I would love to see that scene with the Ettan. And a picture of the GM's face. Oh man. Especially since... (looks up to be sure) they're listed as chaotic evil. You, a good aligned character, basically convinced that creature to become a cannibal.
I'm Brigid, not my birth-name, but the one I chose for Confirmation. It's a Catholic thing. Want to learn more about how I grew up? Check out my semi-autobiographical webcomic, Mary Quite Contrary.
The closest I've come to earning a living as a writer is one summer I worked as a feature columnist for a small-town newspaper. I've been telling and writing stories my whole life, though, and, hey, it's something I enjoy. Whether I manage to make a buck at it isn't that important to me.

It works for cockroaches.
@alkirk: ... Cockroaches are cannibalistic? Okay. Ew.
