Ha! Bet you didn't think I'd get another strip out so soon! Well, I diiiiid iiiiiit!
This is going to be a fun, if somewhat disgusting arc. All things considered, not having a fully functional sense of smell is probably a good thing. I'd never get some things cleaned otherwise. I'm not quite anosmic, since I can pick up a few (very strong) things in a vague sort of way. So the correct medical term would be hyposmia.

"Gross" is one of your keywords / labels for this one?
*Snerk*
@Dan: Yep! And there's a very good reason for that. ^_^
I've often wondered if perhaps vampires, as a predatory species, might suffer from the opposite of hyposmia (hyperosmia). That might explain why strong odors such as that of garlic repels them, don't you think? Of course it might also suggest that they were similarly sensitive to the odor of onions...
@Dan: Wow... That was random. But not entirely unrelated. There's a story about a rag that 'evolved' into a life form of sorts. Never read it, Dad told me about it. Just can't remember the title.
Random!? I think not (although I do reserve the rights to the idea)! You brought up Mary's sense of smell, or lack therof, and tagged this comic with the word hyposmia, after all. :P
@Dan: I don't expect people to read those tags! lol And, honestly, how many people would go from 'hyposmia' to 'vampires'? Well, besides you, and me, and probably Dad. But we aren't exactly normal. ;P
I'll grant you that. I mean, I didn't mean to suggest...I mean, I know that I'm not exactly normal...I mean, I, uh...I think I'm going to just shut up and go crawl under the bed, now.
Maybe make a side-trip to the kitchen first, to see if we have any onions that I can keep the vampires at bay with. Of course, that won't keep me safe from the spiders.
And now I've got that old song stuck in my head: There was an old lady who swallowed a frog / she swallowed the frog to kill the spider...
I guess that now I need to find myself a frog, too... ^_^'
@Dan: lol We must be such entertaining people to listen to. (Wait, how did they get there? What just happened??)
@Brigid and @Dan: Hooray!! I sure love another strip. And very quick, too *nod*
Two things I absolutely love about MQC.
1. The comics
2. The conversations that follow.
I'll bet your hyposmia came in handy with your job, huh?
@Journo: Glad to hear it! ^_^ The next strip may take a couple more days. I had some issues with Photoshop in addition to my real life problems.
And, yes, the hyposmia did come in handy for the job. On the other hand, I also couldn't tell if there was anything I was allergic to in the area.
