Chapter 11, Page 18 Doing Both

Mary takes Peter for a walk.

Gotta love little red wagons. I think every family should have one. I always wished I could go on the sort of rides Calvin and Hobbs went on, but there wasn't a national park in my backyard. Oh well.

Chapter 6, Page 12 Conscience

Conscience sounds like Mom.

Of course her conscience sounds like Mom! What else would a conscience sound like? lol

Sorry this is a little late in the day. Classes and the fact that I didn't work on the comic all weekend nearly doomed me. (Bad mangaka. Bad. Bad.)

Chapter 6, Page 11 I don't believe in ghosts.

I don't believe in ghosts, but...

One can't be too careful, right? Of course, Mary could've used to phone and called Mom to make sure things were all right, but I don't think she was thinking too clearly right then.

So Mary doesn't believe in ghosts. haha

Chapter 6, Page 10 Odd sounds

Voices in the silence.

These scene is really hard to do in comic format. Or really any format. It wasn't so much that I *heard* the door or Mom's voice (the last panel). It was more like I remembered hearing it just the moment before.

Very weird.

Chapter 6, Page 9 Preteen Relaxation

Time to relax.

Yeah, not much happening right now. This is mostly set up for Wednesday's episode. It also shows one of the few upsides to babysitting. Video games. Mary doesn't have video games at home. It is so cool.

Chapter 6, Page 8 Jumping Logic

Is there sense in this story?

This story assumes, as Becky said, that no communication is possible between Heaven and Earth. Mary doesn't understand the reasoning behind that assumption, but the reason for her confusion goes rather deeper than that.

Actually, it's part of the main plot for this chapter, so I shouldn't give too much away here.

Chapter 6, Page 7 Transition

A most elaborate groan.

What, one page in and she's giving up already? Is this the same girl who reads the encyclopedia for fun? What new low is this?

Well, at least the Encyclopedia is written in English! (Modern English, anyway. Shakespeare is in English too, but that's not always easy to tell at first glance.)

Chapter 4, Page 42 Babysitting chaos.

No reward is worth this.

Sorry this is a bit late. ^^; Well, it's still technically Wednesday.

Anyway, Mary once again is called upon to babysit for Becky's family. Gotta come up with a last name for them. If for no other reason than Mom being able to refer to Becky's mom as something other than, well, "Becky's mom."

Oh, and yes, Mary is trying to tie the door shut. It's actually SOP in Becky's home because otherwise her little brother would run rampant all night. Fun family, huh?

Chapter 4, Page 38 Again?!

She wants her back?

Mary is not having a good day.

What could possibly be worse than doing such a good job babysitting that she gets hired for a second job?

Wait a minute...

Chapter 4, Page 37 Babysitting p3

Don't bite the dog!

Becky's lack of obedience isn't helped any by the fact that Mary is only five years older than her. Age does matter.

I feel kinda sorry for that 'dog'.

Chapter 4, Page 36 Babysitting p2

The sort-of-a-dog.

This does not bode well.

What sort of maniac names a dog like that "Angel"?? Mini-demon, maybe. Abomination of Desolation, perhaps. But Angel??

Chapter 4, Page 35 Babysitting job p1

Do I get paid?

It's a reasonable enough question, really, just not the first thing Mom wanted Mary to have in mind. Charity is a virtue and all that. Besides, these are supposed to be friends. You're supposed to be willing to help friends without expectation of reward.

On the other hand... well, you'll just have to see Wednesday's episode. There's a *reason* Mary wants to be paid so badly.

Chapter 3, Page 13, Truth Is No Object

It is very rainy here. I'm just thankful there isn't any thunder or else I wouldn't be able to update this.

Well, this does have something to do with the larger story, but maybe not this chapter's story. So I'll get back on track on Wednesday. I promise. Really.
