So this is going to be the first time Mary has gone to Mass by herself. Kinda scary, really.
I'm doing this episode now for two reasons. One, it ties in with Wednesday's strip in that it talks about going to Mass. Two, I really am sick. It's cold and flu season, you know.

It may sound arbitrary, but that "because I said so" has been a useful explanation.
I think I understand how scary a solo experience can be, the first time.
I've sometimes taken it to mean "there's more to it but I don't have the time and/or energy to argue the case right now."
