Chapter 14, Page 11 Going camping

Pre-camping jitters.

I'm alive! Would've had this out earlier this week, but I had sinus pressure where my brains should've been.

Anyway, Mary is going to a summer camp for the first time ever. Should be interesting?

If I recall correctly, my brother reacted this way the first time that he went to camp. I know that I had similar misgivings after telling my Mom as a child of three or four that I was going to run away from home, and on at least one or two sleep-overs... ;^_^

@Dan: It is fairly common. But at seventeen?!?

@Brigid: To be fair, my eldest sister did break down in tears after my Dad left her in Canada. She was starting University and they had said goodbye. Not sure how true the story is, but she was about 18 at the time

Sinus pressure sucks!

@Journo: Yeah, but that's *moving out.* This is two weeks. ^_^ Same thing for a kid, I guess.

@Brigid: Yeah, it's kind of the same feeling. You were home schooled most of your childhood and you spent your holidays with your family so being in a camp with a bunch of strangers musta been something else, huh?

@Journo: Good point. Heck, the vast majority of the people I interacted with on a regular to semi-regular bases were (and are) related to me somehow. Just finding out that there really are people who don't get along with their parents was a bit of a shock.

Oh, my. I remember.

@Dad: I make things memorable, don't I?
