Chapter 7, Page 28 New developments.

Mary needs a training bra.

You may or may not have noticed, but I'm not very good with 'subtle.' My default setting is 'subtle as a sledgehammer,' which can cause problems when subtlety is called for. When I try it usually comes out confusing.

In this case my problem was trying to indicate what Mom noticed without going the Gainax route (which would be pretty hard to do with a still image, anyway).

Puberty is awkward even a second time through.

Whoa! Time marches on!! Even for Mary I guess.

I think you handled that very subtly - the small cartoon-appropriate sound/action effect was quite tasteful. I was also impressed the the city-wide "No..." Unlike most girls her age, it seems Mary is in no hurry to "grow up" and realizes being a kid as long as possible is a thing to be desired. Very refreshing.

Nice comic.

"Awkward" - Good choice of words.

@Tenacious-K: Thanks. It's a hard thing to balance. And the embarrassment has only begun!

No hurry to grow up at all. There are times when I almost want to go back to my preteen years, but then I wouldn't have internet access!

@Dad: Of course, if this is awkward then what about later? What's a stronger word than awkward?
