Chapter 7, Page 36 Not flu.

Growing up hurts.

Heh. I managed to get a contemporary reference into one of these. I didn't think I'd be able to pull that off.

There are things I really hate about growing up. Especially as a human. Animals don't have to go through this!

I was wondering the other day, why such matters don't seem to be discussed until after the fact.

@imalbert: Well, Mom did tell Mary a couple years ago that if she started bleeding into the toilet to let her know. That was after Mary made Mom promise not to include sex ed in the homeschooling curriculum.

So. Why is Mary so freaked out by Sex Education and the like? If you look at it from a biomechanical perspective, you can distance yourself from the embarrassing aspects.

Though I think that much of sex ed is flawed. Some parents don't want their kids to even know because if they know they might have sex... but after seeing a childbirth film, I know I was turned off of sex. ^^;; Worked far better than the "Just Say No" abstinence programs out there. :P ;)

Poor Mary. Her hangups do end up with consequences as she's about to learn. ^^;;

@Robert: Well, there was a rather squicky sex ed video back in sixth grade. Sixth grade for Mary. For me the video was in fifth grade.

For both of us the video was shown to the entire class, boys and girls.

And Mary's never been good at distancing herself from anything.
