Chapter 6, Page 14 She's not you.

Mary is not her Dad.

To quote Mama Gord from Fraggle Rock, "Oh dear, you've forgotten which one of us you are again."

There are certain problems inherit in having two people so very similar sharing living space. The one illustrated here is that it's easy to forget that there *are* differences. One wonders if Dad was this facinated by Shakespeare when he was thirteen.

I don't know about 13: I wasn't exposed to the Bard then.

But a few years later, in high school, I saw some filmed Shakespeare plays: and formed strong opinions on how they should (and shouldn't) be done.

A problem with one particular series was that the actors seemed terribly aware that they were uttering terribly fine lines from a terribly fine play: instead of acting them.

If I recall, I was exposed to Shakespeare about that time. Loved it. But it also wasn't being thrust at me as the Holy of Holies. I just remember finding Romeo and Juliet to rather appealing to my teenaged brain and hormones. "What? Romeo is infatuated with some hot girl so much he's defying his parents? This is teenage rebellion awesomeness! What, they DIED? Teenage rebellion tragic awesomeness!"

Then I saw Henry the 5th performed, and became a convert. In college I even got to preform some Shakespear. Midsummer Night's Dream and Twelfth Night. LOVED IT (even if I did have to wear a dress for a couple of scenes of the Midsummer Nights Dream production...)

Er, sorry, I should sign that "Sareth" so you know who this "James" character is.

lol So many names the people I know have.

Yeah, Dad's initial approach wasn't the greatest. We'll see what happens next.

(Funny, I didn't have that reaction to Romeo and Juliet. I was more like, if they're so in love why don't they run away together? Why doesn't that Friar guy tell the town leader so the dimwits have an ally? But then I also didn't have much in the way of hormones at the time. XP )
