What I remember is blinking and seeing my sisters making the strangest faces at me. Apparently they'd been trying to get my attention for some time. Dreaming with my eyes open? Stranger things have happened.
Or more embarrassing things...such as the time that I had the wino interrupt the "conversation" I was having with myself (actually going over some dialogue for a story idea, verbally) so he could try and beg some change off me...
Apparently, I've been known to fall asleep in TOK with my eyes open. So much to the point that my teacher nicknamed me Rip (after Rip Van Wrinkle).
Then there's that time I just...froze while I was writing my notes in Geography. My pen was positioned for writing, but I was frozen in that position unable to move. It wasn't until much later that I heard my classmate call me in a faint voice and I felt a bit of drool on the corner of my mouth.
On top of that, my watch stopped, making it seem like time had stopped. I don't know what it was to this day. It might have been like a petit mal.
I'm Brigid, not my birth-name, but the one I chose for Confirmation. It's a Catholic thing. Want to learn more about how I grew up? Check out my semi-autobiographical webcomic, Mary Quite Contrary.
The closest I've come to earning a living as a writer is one summer I worked as a feature columnist for a small-town newspaper. I've been telling and writing stories my whole life, though, and, hey, it's something I enjoy. Whether I manage to make a buck at it isn't that important to me.

I've always found that the beginning of a Quest focuses all my attention... pretty much.
So, I understand.

@Tenacious-K: Isn't it, though.
@Dan: Seriously? Wow. I can't think of anything else to say but, wow.
@ Naomi: Yeah. Wow.

@Journo: Wow. Weird. Temporal displacement, maybe?
@Brigid: You mean like time-travelling? 0_0
@Journo: Not exactly. More like disconnecting from the flow of time.
@Brigid: Whoa. That would be so boss.
@Journo: Yeah, if you can get used to the dizzy feeling.
