Chapter 11, Page 15 Permit, sort of

Not quite a driving permit.

It's hard to write the way Mary (and by extension, I) really talk. Wall o' Text doesn't even begin to describe it.

That same difficulty may also explain why I haven't put Dad in the comic much.

Chapter 11, Page 11 Distracted

Talk about big game hunting.

So Mary is back in driving class. Or, at least her body is. As usual, keeping her mind in the same reality that her body inhabits proves a little too hard. Maybe if the classroom didn't feel like a rainforest.

Chapter 11, Page 8 A growing fear

Someone really should reconsider what they're trying to do with those driver's ed videos.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had a bad experience with those scare-'em-straight driving videos. You know, the ones that go into gruesome detail on what happens if you drink and drive or otherwise behave like an idiot behind the wheel. As if Mary's imagination really needed fueling.

Chapter 11, Page 7 Summer Teacher

Ever get the idea that summer teachers are a little bitter about their job?

The justification is that this makes the future drivers aware of how much they have to learn. I can't help but feel there might be another reason.

Gah. The end of the month is coming. Bills, deadlines, hoo-boy. I will try hard not to let it affect the update schedule.

Chapter 11, Page 6 Fairies?

Shakespearean, Victorian, or Modern, pick your flavor.

I honestly don't know now if that's what they meant when they said they were fairies. I have a sneaking suspicion that it's not.

Mary, however, has, like I did, jumped to the conclusion that they must be in a play. She's got Shakespeare on the brain right now, so it's kinda justified.

Speaking of which, I just picked up a 1999 adaptation of that play from the library. Hope they did a good job with it. Adaptations of Shakespeare plays seem to be highly variable in quality.

Oh, and Mary is on her way to her first driving class. That was probably about as clear as mud from the context.

Chapter 11, Page 4 Permit to panic

Not looking forward to the school part.

Not really sure if that first panel is clear. Mary's supposed to be eating a sandwich. And talking with her mouth full. Bad manners!

Anyway, Mary finds out that she's going to be taking driver's ed so she can get her permit. Funny how I (er, Mary) tend to find out about these things after they've been set up.

Sorry about the delay. I was visiting family for most of last week. My sister has an absolutely adorable little baby wood mouse that she rescued.

Chapter 7, Page 24 Hatnapping.

Conny get her hat napped.

Some kids are mean. Others not so much. For Conny, being an adorable little wallflower while at school is a bit of an asset. Whether she sees it that way is yet to be seen.

Chapter 6, Page 2 Little pixie.

Conny's first day of school.

Yeah, I totally forgot about Conny starting school. ~.~ My bad.

Now if I can just figure out what to do for next week.

Chapter 3, Page 15 To War!

So, Mary's Dad is declaring war against the school system. ^_^ I remember this very clearly, and how heroic he looked to me. I still think he's the greatest dad on the planet.

For some reason, though, Mom doesn't remember the incident. Ah well, what's important to one isn't so much to another.

I sometimes wonder what would have happened if I had gone back to school then. Nothing good I imagine, but whatever the case I'm quite happy that my parents stopped me.

This chapter is going to be difficult to wrap up, I think, because the paperwork actually continues for a few more years as I recall. I do have an ending in mine, though. Don't worry.

Or worry for the characters. If you do then I'm doing my job as an author. (Or mangaka, I like that word as it covers the categories of artist and author.)

Chapter 3, Page 11 Enemy Territory

Nervous much?

That's Mary for ya. Nerves out a yard and curling at the edges. It's a wonder I haven't had a stroke yet.

Sorry for the delays, this computer is a lot better than the last one, but it still has its problems.

Chapter 3, Page 10 Back to School

So my computer is still out of commision and I just realized that this is the last episode I actually have finished. (And have access to, as the main files are on my computer.)
Well, hopefully things will get straightened out by tomorrow. (Crosses fingers and toes.)
